"Casual Cocktail" party dress business ...?

My husband was promoted to management this year. Management is to have a Christmas party at a Country Club with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres hour followed by dinner buffet. It was announced that the dress is "cocktail casual." My concern is that I am 9 months pregnant (the baby will be next Tuesday!) and my clothes pregnancy is limited to say the least. I intended to wear a deep red velvet V-neck 3 / 4 length trousers and a black heels. It seems appropriate? Would that seem reasonable in view of finding a maternity cocktail dress can be hard to do well ... perhaps not look so good for me right now either! haha. The invitation called for sports coats for men. My husband does not have a sport coat, so it would wear dark dress pants and shirt w / tie. What do you think of this? Honest answers please!
