Obama is called "articulate"...didn't someone else get in trouble for calling a black man "ARTICULATE"?
But, this time it's FROM a BLACK man.
WHAT???
Yes, Missouri Democrat Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, who is BLACK, and a Clinton supporter, said that Obama ‘‘is articulate. In the black tradition, he would probably be mediocre.’’
What exactly does "in the black tradition he would probably be mediocre" mean (to a white man like myself)?
That "for an African-American" he's a pretty good speaker?

I find it patronizing when someone describes a black person as "articulate", as if they assumed that all blacks speak ebonics. Or it is unusual for them to hear a black person use proper grammar.
It doesn't matter that the person that said is was black also. Many blacks buy into the stereotypes about themselves, so it is just as offensive to me regardless of the race of the person that said it.
